Fee Schedule

If you are looking for a personal and professional experience that surpasses what your insurance carrier normally offers through its network, you will NOT be disappointed. Moreover, the small inconvenience of submitting your own receipts for reimbursement also helps to keep Dr. Behling’s administrative costs to a minimum - which she is happy to pass on the cost-savings and other benefits to her patients.

Note that since most patients presenting to Dr. Behling usually have not responded enough or failed prior efforts of management, Dr. Behling prefers to spend at least 90 minutes with each patient, but often up to 2 hours is spent. This is to ensure that there is enough time to perform a full evaluation before any management, including procedures is performed the same day.

Consultation fees typically range from $255 - $385, depending on the complexity and the procedures. Followup fees typically range from $55 to $225, again depending on whether additional evaluation and management needs to be performed and/or the types of procedures provided.

Of course, paying out-of-pocket fees can be daunting, especially when you don’t know what you will get for your investment. We want you to know that Dr. Behling strives to make her services cost-effective by being extremely targeted in her approaches, and has a reputation for providing significant relief in your symptoms in as few appointments as possible.

If you are a Veteran, First-Responder, Security or Active Military Personnel, please note that NORTH SHORE OSTEOPATHIC offers a 20% discount on all Physiatric and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine services.

Anticipating Insurance-Reimbursement

Dr. Behling has decided to remain OUT-OF-NETWORK for all insurance carriers so that she can continue to offer quality services for a fee that fairly reimburses time and efforts - without compromising the quality of services or environment for patients.

Please note that Dr. Behling does not directly submit insurance claims for her patients. Once paid in full, a special reimbursement receipt (i.e., “Superbill”) with the codes and fees identified for that date of service will be forwarded so that it can be submitted to the insurance carrier.

It is encouraged that you contact your insurance carrier to confirm eligibility for reimbursement - AND to confirm whether you need a referral for her services.

Fees for evaluation and management, as well as any additional charges for standard procedures are averaged from an average o Blue Cross Blue Shield, United, Aetna, and Cigna reimbursement rates. While many insurers follow Medicare’s rules, policies can vary. Some commercial plans have stricter “same‑day” bundling rules, and others may require prior authorization or have specific coverage limits. This may mean that a patient may not receive full reimbursement. Moreover, patients shoulder know that Medicare reimbursement rates are lower - approximately $20 - than other insurance carriers. Please contact your insurance company for clarification of this rule.

Team-Based Visits

Welcome to our unique team-based diagnostic and therapeutic approach to integrative care! This is what sets NORTH SHORE OSTEOPATHIC apart from other pain-management groups or practitioners. So to offer more efficient evaluation and management options, this collaborative approach requires no less than three Team Members to support you during consultation and followup appointments - as well as time dedicated EVERY WEEK to discussion and collaboration about shared patients.

Part of Team-Based visits are eligible for insurance reimbursement, this is because Acupuncture, Naturopathic and /or Structural Integrated Massage are not always covered by insurance carriers.

Consultation includes physician evaluation & management, acupuncture and soft tissue evaluations, initiation of Peer Mentorship (if desired), and at least one procedure. Visits will need to be coordinated between multiple specialists. Thus Consultation visits may only be scheduled by personnel within NORTH SHORE OSTEOPATHIC.

Followup Team-Based visits may be self-scheduled, BUT urgent cases are prioritized by Specialists and it may not be possible to have specific treatments at the time scheduled.

You may also opt into this option - or opt out - and continue your symptom management with single-provider visits.

PROCEDURE FEES:

If there is no new condition or a significantly worsening symptom that needs to be evaluated and managed - meaning ONLY procedure(s) are anticipated at the time of a visit, no additional evaluation (E&M) fee will be charged.

If adjustments are made to the plan of care, including referrals, orders for bloodwork, imaging, medication prescriptions, or over-the-counter recommendations - Evaluation and Management fee will be applied.

OSTEOPATHIC MANIPULATIVE MEDICINE (OMT/OMM) fees are based on number of treated ‘sites’ (out of 10 sites): Head, Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, rib, pelvic, sacral, abdominal/other, upper & lower extremity.

OSTEOPATHIC CRANIAL THERAPY usually involves two sites, but may be combined (if desired) with PEMF or RED LED (for an additional fee) for optimization of time and treatment efficacy.

NON-INVASIVE PROCEDURES may be performed at any visit as long as equipment and/or medications are available, the procedure is appropriate, the patient consents, and there are NO contraindications. Fees are as follows:

  • Whole Body Vibration Therapy for ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, lymphedema, peripheral neuropathy, obesity, osteopenia, balance and strength using platform $1/ day

  • Red LED / Photobiomodulation to increase mitochondria for Painful Inflammatory Joint Pain Syndromes, Post-Workout Optimization, Insomnia, Improved skin damaged from sun, and hair loss $1 / day
