Physician Service Fees
To keep our administrative costs minimal, Dr. Behling is currently OUT-OF-NETWORK so that she can continue to offer quality services for a fee that fairly reimburses time and efforts - without compromising the quality of services or our environment for patients.
Of course, paying out-of-pocket fees can be daunting, especially when you don’t know what you will get for your investment. We want you to know that Dr. Behling strives to make her services cost-effective by being extremely targeted in her approaches, and has a reputation for providing significant relief in your symptoms in fewer than six (6) appointments.
All-Inclusive Visits - HSA / Non-Insurance
These are discounted service options for those who have large medical deductibles - OR - for those patients who plan to use their health savings cards - OR - for those patients who do not plan to use insurance at all. Veteran / First Responder patients receive an additional discount (see below).
Services are pre-paid via FSA or HSA/credit/debit cards online at the time of scheduling - OR on the same day after services are rendered via cash or check. If uncomfortable putting card information online, please request alternative payment options by contacting the office by phone or email.
For followup appointments, patients are permitted to self-schedule however much time they wish to spend with Dr. Behling for an evaluation, diagnostic testing and/or imaging ordering and/or review, medication management, and/or prescriptions, and/or Osteopathic or other PM&R procedures. Please note that there is an additional $75 medication fee for injectable medications, as indicated.
Team-Based Visits
Welcome to our unique team-based diagnostic and therapeutic approach to integrative care! This is what sets NORTH SHORE OSTEOPATHIC apart from other pain-management groups or practitioners. So to offer more efficient evaluation and management options, this collaborative approach requires no less than three Team Members to support you during consultation and followup appointments - as well as time dedicated EVERY WEEK to discussion and collaboration about shared patients.
Team-Based visits are eligible for insurance reimbursement - OR- you may decide to receive the discounted All-Inclusive option.
Consultation includes physician evaluation & management, acupuncture and soft tissue evaluations, initiation of Peer Mentorship, and at least one procedure. Visits will need to be coordinated between multiple specialists. Thus Consultation visits may only be scheduled by personnel within NORTH SHORE OSTEOPATHIC.
Followup Team-Based visits may be self-scheduled, BUT urgent cases are prioritized by Specialists and it may not be possible to have specific treatments at the time scheduled.
You may also opt into this option - or opt out - and continue your symptom management with single-provider visits.
If Naturopathic and/or Mental Health Evaluation and Treatment (at your request) is involved as part of the consultation, invoicing to Counselors will be separate. Please contact Dr. Behling to assist if you have specific Specialist and/or treatment requests.
Appointments Anticipating Insurance-Reimbursement
These appointment types are for those who expect to use their insurance and receive reimbursement after payment on the day of service (payment plans are available). Please note that Dr. Behling does not directly submit insurance claims for her patients. Neither does she charge extra co-pays or co-insurance fees. A special reimbursement receipt (i.e., “Superbill”) with the codes and fees identified for that date of service will be forwarded so that it can be submitted to the insurance carrier. It is encouraged that you contact your insurance carrier to confirm eligibility for reimbursement.
Insurance reimburses for evaluation and management - AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR PROCEDURES - based on average Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United, Aetna, Cigna, etc. fees. Medicare tends to reimburse approximately $10-$20 per fee less than insurance carriers.
Please note that acupuncture services may be covered by your insurance if it is part of the Physician’s plan of care AND is supervised by the physician (not necessarily performed by her). Please contact your carrier for more information. Acupuncture and massage may also be covered if you have an insurance “rider” for complementary medicine specialists.
Workers Compensation
Unfortunately we are not currently accepting new Worker’s Compensation referrals at this time.

INSURANCE PROCEDURE FEES: If there is no new condition or symptom that needs to be evaluated and managed and only a procedure/several procedures are anticipated, no additional evaluation (E&M) fee is necessary. This includes followup visit for typical waxing and waning, or acute-on-chronic exacerbations that do not require a significant change to the plan of care or medication/supplement adjustments.
OSTEOPATHIC MANIPULATIVE MEDICINE (OMT/OMM) fees are based on number of treated ‘sites’ (out of 10 sites): Head, Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, rib, pelvic, sacral, abdominal/other, upper & lower extremity. OSTEOPATHIC CRANIAL THERAPY usually involves two sites, but may be combined (if desired) with PEMF or RED LED for optimization of time and treatment efficacy.
